Serve! Engaging Youth for Change

passport to participation

Interested in the Serve experience and want to bring it to youth for a day?

Passport to Participation is a series of interactive workshops and presentations provided by Serve for youth in the community. Workships include facilitated activities and discussions that help youth participants learn-and experience-more about community involvement, volunteerism, service and leadership.

Through these workshops, youth participants:

  • identify personal and social benefits to community involvement
  • gain greater awareness of opportunities to be involved in and contribute to their community
  • obtain specific contacts and resources to initiate community involvement
  • increase their interest in and understanding of community participation and responsible citizenship.

Workshops range from 50 minutes to 3 hours depending on the needs of the group.

If you are interested in having Passport to Participation present at your school group, community agency and community center, contact us

I made a lot of decisions and gained important experiences that I will carry with me in my future. I achieved my goals and dreams, and got to work with others in teams ... and I made a difference!

We are looking for a few agency partners for weekly community projects for a team of 10 youth (17 to 24 years old) to meet community needs and to build youth civic engagement and skills development. Does your organization/agency have a project that can run once a week from end of January to May 2010? We are mainly looking for projects for Monday or Wednesday afternoons (or possibly a one-time service project on a Friday morning).
