Imagine walking into a new environment with fresh faces staring at you, at that moment you're second guessing your decision to join such a social program. Meeting new people can be as challenging as learning math or writing a two page essay. By the second week of orientation I roughly got to know the people I would be spending the next five months with. Wow!

What a unique crowd of individuals, there are observers, social butterflies, leaders and funny personalities that cannot be ignored.

Each of us comes from various lifestyles and its amazing how ten completely different people can become the group Circle of Servers. Our first taste of a retreat was at Adventureworks! in Hamilton; we worked as a team to conquer personal challenges and encouraged each other to keep pushing ourselves to a new and higher limit.

I’m hoping through Serve! I will meet new friends and discover new skills about myself that will strengthen my ability to achieve my future career goals. I can’t wait to see what Serve! has to offer and how far I am able to push myself with help from my fellow friends and mentors.

Quotes From Participants

We are used to talking to friends and teachers but we didn't know how to talk to people from different age groups. At first, we didn't know how and we felt scared. It was also a worry whether we could get along with others in the team, but as we worked together in different activities we all learned the importance of cooperation and respect for one another.
