What I like about the Serve! Experience This! program
The things I like about Serve! program is that it’s a safe environment to work in and the members are great to work with and to get along with. I really enjoy going to the service projects and helping out with the community involvement things. I feel really good when I can go out into the society and help those unfortunate. It makes me feel really good about myself.
I like our program coordinators…Stephanie, Aramita, and Elaine. They really know what they are doing and they have made these last four months really fun and exciting and I just want to say to them keep it up.
I liked going on the two trips. The first trip we went on was to Kinark… it was really good for me cause I was going through some personal stuff and by going up north it really helped me out and it got my mind off some stuff which made me not think about a lot of the stuff when I got back to Toronto. I also enjoy doing energizers in the morning or afternoon cause most of the times I can’t lie I feel so tired that I just want to knock out and go to sleep but by doing the warmups it really wakes up your body and makes you look the part and feel alert not falling asleep which is rude in a way. I like doing the mini fun activities whether it’s a solo game or a group they are all exciting to me.
What I have learned from the Serve! program
The things that I have learned from Serve is better leadership skills…to be more independent…to be more social or another word for that would be networking…I learned so much stuff from the many different workshops we had through out the four months so far that I have been there. I have learned organizational skills from being at service projects cause a lot of the stuff we do you have to be organized or everything will start to fall apart and that will be one rough day for you especially if you are working at a furniture bank or a drop in shelter or even at Arts 4All (our community projects)…all those jobs/ volunteer work places all need organization skills to be successful.
What I am looking forward to
The things that I am looking forward to is graduating form Serve. I wished that every one that started off in the program or came late to the program would have graduated with me and the others but things happen I just don’t want to see anyone else getting terminated. I am looking forward to doing the White Ribbon Campaign with Tuval. It seems very exciting and interesting so there shouldn’t be any reason why it would not go good at all. It all depends on who is determined and reliable…but those are the things I’m looking forward to in the future with Serve.
